It’s A Wrap (N.E) Limited, was incorporated in Blyth, Northumberland in 2002 as the result of an analysis which clearly showed a dearth of similar services north of the Midlands. The Company was created to service, maintain and repair all types of flow wrapping and packaging machinery for clients’ in the North East of England. The Company name and motif represent a strong corporate identity and whilst ‘catchy’, also reflects the flow wrap and packaging industry.

Since inception It’s A Wrap has expanded to cover the North of England and Scotland and progressed to completing full refurbishment of flow wrapping machinery to clients and manufacturers’ specifications, both on behalf of clients’ and by purchasing second hand machines for onward sale at the specific request of a customer. The Company also provides spare and replacement machine parts, consumable materials, and offers flow wrap & packaging machine operator training for customer employees. Additionally, liaison with Record Packaging Systems Ltd, a major supplier of machines for the industry, has resulted in the Company arranging sales and completing installations and servicing/maintenance of machinery on behalf of Record Packaging.

From the start the Company has established a most creditable reputation in the packaging machine industry and now has a solid base of around 35 clients contracted to servicing and maintenance, our clients include well known household names such as Warburtons- Family Bakers and Pride Valley Foods Ltd

Although advertised on the Internet (www.itsawrap.org.uk), almost 95% of new contacts derive from positive recommendations by current clients who are extremely satisfied with the services. The original 1 person Company, supported by a part time administrator and assistance of an accountant, has grown to 3 full time engineers, an engineering modern apprentice, a full time administrator and 3 Company vehicles.

We also have the resources of another 7 Packaging Engineers, who can be called at a moments notice.

During 2004 -2005 at the express desire of a client, the Company built, trialed and installed a semi automatic product feeding process at a food packaging plant in Glasgow. The equipment is operational and the customer is so satisfied that at least one further system is required with a possible 3 further systems, subject to modernization to full automatic standards. The equipment is known as an ‘Automatic Infeed System’ (AIS) and will feed products to any flow wrap or packaging system, completing the work of up to 3 manual operators.
